What Bike and Build is all about...

Bike and Build is a non-profit organization that raises money and awareness for the affordable housing crisis through the arrangement of cross-country biking trips. The organization primarily engages college students ages 18-25 on 8 different routes. Specifically, Bike and Build attempts to engage young adults in a life-long commitment to service and philanthropy by providing participants with a very intimate approach to the affordable housing crisis. For more information about the organization, check out their website at www.bikeandbuild.org.

Also, a very big thank you to everyone who donated to the cause. Each rider is required to raise a minimum of $4,000 and my current total is $6,770! Thank you again for your support!

Perugia Chocolate Festival!

The weekend of October 15th was the Perugia chocolate festival in (you guessed it) Perugia, Italy!! This sounds really exciting, but it really was pretty tame. I was half expecting to see people jumping in chocolate, people building chocolate igloos, etc, and what do I get!?!? None of that! Although I did get lots of free chocolate so I guess that's a great plus side. Anyway, the pictures capture pretty much everything you need to know.

Ok honestly, how do you get into this profession? Do you just wake up one morning and say, "You know what, it's been a long time coming and I think I'm going to make the jump. It's time to dress up like a silver person and be the subject of public mockery." I mean really, was this guy abducted like that chick from "Taken" and then forced into a life of servitude in a brutal carny ring? It's possible.

EDIT: He looks white in the picture, but he was more silver in person.
