What Bike and Build is all about...

Bike and Build is a non-profit organization that raises money and awareness for the affordable housing crisis through the arrangement of cross-country biking trips. The organization primarily engages college students ages 18-25 on 8 different routes. Specifically, Bike and Build attempts to engage young adults in a life-long commitment to service and philanthropy by providing participants with a very intimate approach to the affordable housing crisis. For more information about the organization, check out their website at www.bikeandbuild.org.

Also, a very big thank you to everyone who donated to the cause. Each rider is required to raise a minimum of $4,000 and my current total is $6,770! Thank you again for your support!

BEST. DAY. EVER.

Running red lights like it ain't no thang.

A very special thanks to officers watkins, tipton, hamby, and wolfrod
from the Dayton police department who essentially worked overtime
after that graveyard shift to do this. They made the entire experience
even better by playing Queen's "we are the champions" as they drove
past. They would also toggle on and off their sirens which only added
to the ride.

So July 4th was also our first century ride. 100 miles is the most
patriotic thing to do on our country's birthday so after the police
escort we woke up an entire neighborhood with the 30 of us singing the
national anthem.

Gabe and I repping our American awesomeness.

We also crossed the Indiana border. More pictures to come...

Sent from my iPhoneOk so this update is a bit late but I simply can't skip the pure
unadulterated badassery that was July 4th. To get to the point: we got
a police escort out of Dayton, Ohio! I've seen police escorts but I've
never been in one before so this was an awesome first. I took a lot of
pictures...
